McGovern Centennial Gardens is a large horticultural garden that features several different gardens, including the Japanese Garden, Rose Garden, and the Children’s Garden. McGovern Centennial Gardens was established in memory of Warren McGovern, who donated his entire fortune to build this public botanical garden. The Japanese Garden is my favorite part of the park because it has an intricate water system with bridges and ponds to explore. While McGovern Centennial Gardens has several different gardens to explore, it also features a garden of hedges. This unique part of the park allows visitors to walk through an area covered in blooming lavender where no boundaries or signs mark what is allowed. Houston, TX can be seen here.

Several water fountains scattered throughout the property add an element of relaxation while children play in them or run through on hot days.
